    Description

Here's your opportunity to bid on a copy of the official media guide for the final season of the nation's first women's professional basketball league, the Women's Pro Basketball League.
The WBL was founded in 1978, six years after the passage of Title IX opened a new chapter in girls and women's sports, and closed at the end of the 1980-81 season. The Nebraska Wranglers were the league's last champions.
This 40-page guide includes rosters, draft picks and team information for each of the league's nine clubs. You'll also find a records section including playoff records, year-by-year leaders and a register of every player to appear in the league.
The league proclaimed, "This season promises to be one of challenge both on the court and off. Giant steps forward in public acceptance, arena attendance and media receptiveness, when compared to temporary setbacks caused by realignment, indicate definite advances forward and the future promise of prosperity."
That turned out to be an overly optimistic take, but the WBL gave the game's top players an opportunity to continue in the game.
The guide is in excellent condition for its age with no marks or damage.
Postage is free to any U.S. address, so what you bid is what you pay (plus any applicable state or local sales tax).
