Vintage Sherle Wagner Water Closet Toilet Cover

Description

This is a Sherle Wagner #212 Marble "Water-Closet" Cover.
Sherle Wagner Water-Closet or "Toilet-Cover" is hand carved. (I will try to find the correct Sherle Wagner marble name)
These marble covers were carved to order.
Also included is the original Sherle Wagner #220 hand-carved toilet seat cover.
Usually these were painted gold but this one is plain wood with no evidence of the gold-paint.
Seat could easily be painted/coated in gold if desired.
Original gold flanges for seat cover are in place and gold hinge-pins that pivot the seat up and down are included too.
Original seat in any condition is rare...this one is in much better than average condition.
See photo #7...seat has a mark in top-front.
Cover has a few minor dings (top front corner of lid)
Original toilet handle is included but not shown...should be re-plated or new handle purchased from Sherle Wagner.
Originally these toilet covers were paired with small "Briggs" one-piece toilet...small for that era, made in the U.S.A.
There are many small one-piece toilets now produced.
