    Description

This is a "stock item" and I use a "stock scan" for identification purposes.  The quality of the stamp or cover you receive will match (or exceed!) the written description, though it may look slightly different from the item in the scan.
UY9/MR16-11 - PHILADELPHIA SURCHARGE - MINT REPLY CARD
U.S. POSTAL STATIONERY - MINT POSTAL CARDS, 1920 SURCHARGES
    Scott #UY9.  UPSS #MR16-11, Philadelphia
1c on 2c Washington (UY8), red on buff.
2011 UPSS Postal Card Catalog Value is .00.
    Mint, and in excellent condition.
NOTE: The TOP scan is a generic scan, just to show you what the card looks like.  The BOTTOM scan, at 3x actual size, shows the correct City Surcharge.
In 1920 the USPS lowered the First Class rate fom 2c to 1c...which was the rate before WWI, when a temporary 1c increase was needed.  This was done by "surcharging" 2c Postal & Reply Cards (UX29, UX30 and UY8) to 1c (creating UX32, UX33 and UY9), using a cancelling machine and Dies supplied by the USPOD.
This was done in 46 cities.  AS YOU SHOULD EXPECT....  some of these surcharges are common and command no premium..... some are difficult and command a slight premium.... and some are scarce and command a large premium.
Oh yes...one more thing. They're really not "surcharges"....they're overprints.

    MINIMUM ORDER, PLEASE.
If you buy several lots, please load up the Shopping Cart and pay ONCE, when you're finished ordering.
PLEASE DON'T PAY AFTER EACH LOT.
Postage for multiple lots is always discounted; you'll never pay more than the actual shipping charges.
If you're buying several lots and the eBay checkout system hands you a postage bill which is off the charts, you can either:
    1.  Request a total from me BEFORE you pay (in which case I can dig into their system and adjust the postage charge).... or
    2.  Just pay the whole thing, and when I fill your order, I'll adjust the charges and send you a refund.
I'm a dinosaur on the internet, making my customers happy the old-fashioned way, just as I've done thru the mail since 1971.
    SATISFACTION is ALWAYS  GUARANTEED!
As an ASDA member I stand behind what I sell.  Any item I fail to properly describe may be returned within 7 days for a full refund, plus shipping costs.
N.Y. STATE residents must pay the Sales Tax of the County in which they live.
EBAY currently collects Sales Tax for 30+ states, as well as NY.
OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS, please don't ask me to misrepresent the value of your order so you can avoid import fees or the V.A.T..

Larger items will be shipped in corrugated mailers.
If you buy several lots, the shipping charges will be reduced.  See the
    WHITE PRINT
    above for details.

A FINAL WORD - ABOUT MY SCANS:
What you get will be BETTER than what you see!
Computer scans often show darker or lighter areas which aren't on the actual item, and the larger the object to be scanned, the more areas will be affected.
Plus, I scan using a "cover sheet" to hold the item in place, and the plastic cover can creates glare.
And, I often use shortcuts because I just don't have the time to scan every item I sell; I sometimes have to recycle an old scan to illustrate a new item.
    ALWAYS GO WITH THE DESCRIPTION!
Your item may look a LITTLE different from the scan, but it will match the description 100%.....and it will ALWAYS be a top-quality item.
My feedback on EBAY speaks for itself.
