Great for cutting noise on USB, Firewire, Phone, Power Cord, Coaxial, Audio, Video etc cables!  Just snap it on and you will get clearer signal and faster data transmission!
These snap-on ferrite cores are superb at reducing high frequency interference caused by home appliances and electronics. Snap-on design saves time and money and allows flexibility and re-usability. Can be installed on any electrically-noisy home device, for example telephones, televisions, speaker cables, radios, touch lamps and lights, even audio equipment and appliances.
Reduces line transmitted electromagnetic interference (EMI) and transmitted radio frequency interference (RFI). EMI can be caused by motors most commonly in kitchen appliances like large mixers and blenders, garbage disposals, conducted through the AC power wiring. To best reduce this noise, install the snap-on ferrite core on the cord as close to the appliance as possible.
RFI happens due to cable leads of home appliances acting as antennas which pick up nearby radio-frequency transmissions from say radios and televisions. Installing a core on the device experiencing noise and interference is helpful, as is installing a ferrite core onto the device transmitting the interference.
Some devices both transmit RFI and are interfered with by RFI. A common example (and culprit) is the touch lamp(lamps without a switch in which you tap the base of the lamp to turn it on or off), which transmits RFI when powered on. Thankfully bi-directional protection can also be granted by ferrite cores, install the core as close to the base of the lamp as possible and noise will be reduced.
Another helpful hint to further reduce noise, looping the cord through the core more than once is extremely effective.
