Powers up but is on standby. Looks like the remote is needed to click it off of standby (uncertain). Wish I had the remote but do not. Therefore, this fella is sold as-is to someone who wants to take it to the next step.
This was one of the best you could buy for the buck at the time. Preamp is very good sounding and is still viable depending on what you want it for but as you can see by pictures does not have HDMI in's. Pre was 99 back in the day.
NOTE:
This is a preamp and not a standard amplifier.  You'll need the rest of the system to hook up speakers.
