1956 Cleveland Browns program -
This is a great Browns program from their first meeting with the Giants during the 1956 season. The Browns were the defending NFL champs, but the Giants laid claim to the crown in '56, and they cruised to a 21-9 win in this game. The Browns did avenge the loss with an upset win later in New York.
As for this game, New York halfback Alex Webster scored all three touchdowns two on the ground and one through the air. He caught a 2-yard toss from Don Henrich for the game's first score and added td runs of one and 34 yards.
The program has individual photos of many of the Browns throughout the program, including future Steelers Hall of Fame coach Chuck Noll and individual photos of several of the Giants. There's also a feature article on Cleveland end Darrel Brewster who is pictured on the front cover.
The Giants lineup featured - Henrich, Frank Gifford, Webster, Mel Triplett, Bob Schnelker and Ken MacAfee.
Cleveland's notables included - George Ratterman, Ray Renfro, Fred Morrison, Ed Modzelewski, Brewster and Dante Lavelli.
