    Description

This small format 1 pence British postal envelope was up-franked with 2 1/2 pence and 1/2 penny stamps to mail to Germany (2nd German Empire) for an oversees letter fee of 4 pence.  Great Yarmouth was a resort area in Norfolk County, England.  Stettin was the capital of Pomerania State.
The postmarks and the receiving mark (back) indicate distance of 1220 kilometers, delivery time of 40 1/2 hours, for a speed of delivery of 30 km/hr.  The transit route was probably Great Yarmouth to Harwich to The Hague to Hannover to Berlin to Stettin, with all land transit by rail to achieve this speed of delivery.
